On the first night of Wrestlemania XL, with 72,543 fans in attendance at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, The Rock and Roman Reigns, despite struggles in executing their plan against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, somehow managed to secure a W. This victory gives Roman Reigns an edge going into the second night of Wrestlemania XL for the Undisputed Universal Championship match against Cody Rhodes, with the ‘Bloodline Rules’ stipulation in play. However, considering how the match played out tonight, we wonder if something bigger is brewing behind the scenes for tomorrow’s main event. Perhaps a clue has been right in front of us all along, yet it went unnoticed.
Here are our predictions for the big night tomorrow.
Whom can Cody count on when it matters the most for him?
In today’s match, we witnessed The Rock, leveraging his position as a board member of TKO, blatantly misuse his power. He intimidated the referee, bent the rules in favour of the Bloodline, and did whatever it took to overpower Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Although ‘The Final Boss’ succeeded today, it’s not certain that the same will happen tomorrow when Cody faces Roman in the main event of Wrestlemania XL. It may seem like The Tribal Chief is poised to defend the championship, but the situation could change.
A level playing field for the Undisputed Universal Championship could only be possible if there’s a board member supporting Cody to counterbalance The Rock’s influence. And who better for this role than ‘The Game,’ Triple H himself?
Given the history of rivalry between Triple H and The Rock, Triple H confronting ‘The Final Boss’ will be a pleasant surprise for the WWE Universe. This would be a captivating segment, invoking nostalgia and showcasing a clash between arch-rivals, nemesis of the past.
Wrestlemania XL : Who’s game is it anyway?
Triple H, as the Creative Head of WWE, has revolutionised the brand with compelling storylines and innovative changes. Wrestlemania XL is his brainchild, and he might have the last word in its outcome. There are subtle hints to support this theory.
For starters, observe the Wrestlemania XL logo and theme colour, which resemble ‘The Game’ Triple H’s theme.
Moreover, for Cody to complete his story and for Roman to be dethroned, WWE needs a figure as influential as The Rock. Who else but King of Kings could fill that role?
With the Night 2 just 12 hours away, who do you think will walk out of Wrestlemania XL as the Undisputed Universal Champion?
